Supporting Rise & Root Farm
Rise & Root Farm is a Black-owned, women-led farm that grows herbs, vegetables, tomatoes, and edible flowers on three acres in Chester, NY. We started ordering from them last year and look forward to continuing this growing season. Rise & Root’s cilantro and lemon verbena arrived on Wednesday and are being sold at their wholesale cost of $3.50/bunch, no additional discounts at the register. This allows us to support a small farm and offer their produce at a fair price to co-op shoppers. These herbs can be purchased with other items in the same order, and our POS system will apply any possible shopper discounts to everything except the herbs. More cilantro from Rise & Root will arrive on Friday, 6/19.
One of our co-op members has been making and selling homemade masks at the co-op for the past few months — 20% of mask sales will now be donated to Rise & Root.
